Workshop overview:
Join us for a breather. To flow, eat, and enjoy ritual in community of other moms, guided by other moms.
Inspired into action for the mama who is always caring for someone else. And even when caring for herself, having others in mind. Created with the intention to offer a place, separate from home, to reground in ones-self as the foundation of the family. A foundation that must be strong in order for the family to be strong. And with that offering options to introduce intention and ritual into her busy day.
Pranayama
The three key steps of Pranayama are Puraka (Inhalation), Kumbhaka (Retention), and Rechaka (Exhalation) of breath. Teaching you to be conscious of the breath, to practice noticing its natural rhythm and emphasizing the space between each inhale/exhale, the space you have between stimulus and response throughout your day.
Grounding flow w/ hands-on assists
A flow highlighting a mothers strength, coordination of all things, and her measured ability. Demanding her full presence, rather than the usual scattered brain, through both challenging mvoement and complete stillness. Themed on playing in the optimal balance of structure sprinkled with organic freedom, with gentle hands-on support throughout.
Tea Ceremony
There are not many moments for you as a mama to come to your mat or sit in unbothered meditation. But you can still practice the attention of yoga. In that, we share a simple tea ritual. The conscious heating of the water, the finding of a pretty cup, the choosing of a tea that will nourish, and the emphasis on the contrast between the first, middle and last sips.
Charcuterie & Conversation
We thrive in community. Taking a moment to ‘break bread’, eat without having to cut up someone else’s food and have the capacity look each other in the eye. The simple ritual of eating together.
Come join us! Take time and space to breath amidst the chaos of mothering.
Introductions:
Rachel
Despite practicing yoga for almost a decade, Rachel began first sharing yoga with her first child and officially taking her first training after the birth of her second. As a full-time mom, she is constantly inspired with how her personal yoga practice influences her parenting. But even more, how her parenting influences her teaching of yoga. Now pregnant with her third child, she has found her ultimate joy in guiding expecting mothers as a Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher and fellow parents in how to use the wisdom of this practice in their own home.
Stephanie
Stephanie took her first yoga training while pregnant with her second child. As a mother of two, she decided not to return to her desk job after maternity leave, choosing instead to pursue her desire to dive deeply into the teachings of yoga and become a teacher herself. As a former competitive swimmer with anatomical training, she possesses extensive knowledge of the human body. Through her experiences as a mother, she understands the highs and lows and the challenges of finding time for oneself amidst the chaos.
